This is a working plain-English notice for est8. It should be reviewed by an Irish legal adviser before the website begins collecting live enquiries.
01
Information you provide
When you run the free website check, you provide your website address and, at the second step, your first name and work email. If you request a personal website review, you also provide your full name, firm name, work email and any optional notes.
02
The free website check
When you enter a website address, our server requests that website’s public homepage once and reads the returned code for a small number of objective signals. No login areas, private pages or personal data on your website are accessed.
03
How your details are stored
Website checks and personal review requests are stored in est8’s private database, together with the website address and domain, the page you submitted from, the time, and the check results where relevant. These records are not publicly readable and are never published on this website.
04
Email notifications
Your submission is emailed to Conor so he can respond. After the free website check you receive one short email with a summary of what the check found and an offer of a personal review; if you request a personal review you receive a short confirmation email. There is no mailing list, no marketing sequence and no subscription. We only confirm on screen once your details have genuinely been stored.
05
Measuring the journey
We record seven anonymous first-party milestones so we can understand whether people view the homepage, start and complete a check, view the initial and full findings, provide an email, and request a personal review. Each milestone is recorded no more than once per browser session. It stores a random identifier held only for that session, the page path, the checked website’s domain only after a successful check, the referring website’s domain and any campaign source in the link. We do not use Google Analytics or third-party tracking, fingerprint your device, store IP addresses or query strings, or record anything typed before a successful check.
06
Intended use
Details are used to show and store your check, to respond if you request a personal review, and to understand in aggregate how the website is used. They are not used for unrelated automated marketing.
07
Sharing and retention
est8 does not sell your details. Hosting, database and email providers process information only where needed to operate the service. Enquiry records are kept while they remain relevant to your request, and anonymous measurement events are kept no longer than 24 months.
08
Your rights
Under Irish and EU data-protection law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict or object to processing, and complain to the Data Protection Commission.
